Die To Live

“Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” (John 12:24)

There are many deaths to face,
many deaths to embrace.
Some lead to life,
others to oblivion.

One thing is certain:
we must all die many times.

Die to self.
Die to pride.
Die to fear.
Die to sin.

These deaths bring life.
They lead to freedom, purpose, and fruitfulness.

But there are other deaths….
slow, quiet, numbing deaths,
that lead only to emptiness.

Choose your death,
or it will choose you.

Remember, you cannot hold onto both comfort and calling.
To follow Christ is to lay one down to gain the other.

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
“Then He said to them all, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.’ (Luke 9:23-24)
“Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. (Romans 6:6-7)
