Day 44 | Impostor Syndrome: You Carry the Blessing, the Power of Knowing Who You Are; YE ARE GODS!

God’s intention for you is that: everywhere you go, you bring your own unique flavor. You light up the place. That environment comes alive just because you walked in. Things begin to thrive simply because of your presence and association with the people there.

Galatians 3:14: Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.”

Jacob exemplified this truth for those of us who carry Abraham’s blessing. As a worker under Laban, Jacob’s presence caused Laban’s business to flourish. His profits and turnover skyrocketed to the point that Laban knew beyond a doubt that it was supernatural. He inquired about the reason for his sudden prosperity, and sure enough, it was because of Jacob! Laban said to Jacob, “The Lord has blessed me because of you,” as he pleaded with him to stay after Jacob had decided to move on, establish his own enterprise, and provide for his family.

Here’s the amazing part: Jacob himself may not have realized immediately that Laban’s success was due to the blessing of God upon him. In the beginning, He likely assumed it was just the result of his hard work. But we, who have access to the full story, know that it was the hand of God upon Jacob that brought such extraordinary increase.

Eventually, we see Jacob say to Laban: “You know how hard I’ve worked for you, and how your flocks and herds have grown under my care. You had little indeed before I came, but your wealth has increased enormously. The LORD has blessed you through everything I’ve done.“(Genesis 30:29-30,)

I believe that this consciousness Jacob had; of who he was and the impact of his presence in Laban’s life; not only brought about more success but also helped him realize that he was more than just another man’s servant. He saw that he, too, could be prosperous on his own. Do you think Jacob would have had the courage to leave the seeming comfort he had under Laban if he didn’t know who he was or what he carried? This failure to see ourselves in the light of God’s Word and recognize who we truly are is what makes many people settle for less. It is what makes people remain in toxic relationships, settle for abuse, sell their bodies to make ends meet, resort to robbery, or engage in all kinds of vile acts just to get by in life.

But you ought to see yourself the way Jacob saw himself. If, despite all his shortcomings and deception, he could still recognize God’s hand upon his life, how much more you, a believer redeemed by Christ? Just like Jacob, your presence is a blessing to the places and people around you. Whether in your workplace, home, ministry, or friendships, God has placed His grace upon you, and that grace is not an accident.

If Jesus is the express image of the Father (Hebrews 1:3), and as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17), then as believers, we are meant to reflect God’s nature, character, and glory just like Jesus did. We are not impostors; we are made in the likeness of our Father. If you don’t seem to reflect Him, that’s not His fault—it’s your responsibility to align yourself with His truth and come under His divine economy.

Expect that because of you, people can be blessed. Believe that you carry the blessing of God, for as a believer, you are a seed of Abraham through faith: “And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” (Galatians 3:29)

Walk with this consciousness; your presence carries divine impact! wherever you go, God’s blessing flows!

How to Overcome Impostor Syndrome

  1. Renew your Mind: Impostor syndrome loses its grip when you begin to see yourself through the right lenses, the Mirror of God’s word.

The more we behold Jesus Christ in the Scriptures, by studying and meditating on the Bible; the more the veil is removed from our eyes. Not only do we begin to see ourselves clearly, but we also become more like Him and start reflecting Him.  Remember, this is a process that must never end.

The moment you stop beholding, you begin to wither. God's Word is your lifeline, both literally and figuratively. John 15:5 says: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing”.

Romans 12:2 says: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” The only way to overcome the feeling of being an impostor is by filling yourself with the Word of God. The thoughts and feelings that tell you you’re not good enough, that you don’t belong, or that you’re not capable are all lies that have exalted themselves above God’s truth. The solution is to tear down these thoughts, taking captive every mindset that sets itself up against the Word of God.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”

Take up the whole armor of God, raising it as a standard against the lies that echo in your mind, and enforce God’s Word. Ephesians 6:17 tells us that part of the armor of God is the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Scripture also describes the Word of God as a double-edged sword, powerful in its ability to cut through deception and bring truth. (Hebrews 4:12)

Meditating on God’s Word

When God commissioned Joshua, He spoke a few but very powerful words that was to guide him in his journey of leadership and life generally. After promising Joshua great things, God emphasized the importance of being careful to study the Book of Instruction (the Book of Instruction or the Book of the Law is what the Bible is to us today) continually, meditating on it day and night, so he would be sure to obey everything written in it. God even tied Joshua’s prosperity and success to his study and obedience to the Law (the Bible to them). There truly is no way around it! (Joshua 1:8).

We are far more blessed in our time. At the point of Joshua’s commissioning, all they had was a book containing laws and commandments. These laws marked the Israelites as God’s chosen people, set apart for holiness and righteousness. However, unlike the New Testament—particularly the epistles—those laws did not explicitly reveal how special we are to God. Now, we know that God loved us so much that He gave His only begotten Son to die once and for all, for all of humanity. Today, we have countless scriptures that clearly define our identity in Christ, granting us an authority that those in Joshua’s time could only dream of exercising.

To meditate on the Word of God is to read it, read it again, and think on it over and over. I believe women, in particular, can be great at meditating on God’s Word. Here’s why: you know how the average woman, when she’s hurt or upset, often spirals in her mind, replaying a situation over and over, trying to understand why someone said or did something? She can get lost in her thoughts, making decisions that sometimes aren’t necessary. And when she eventually discusses the incident, she often finds out that things weren’t as she imagined!

My husband and I sometimes have a similar experience in conversations. If I begin to misinterpret something he’s saying, he’ll jokingly say, “When you arrive, let me know” or “Where are you traveling to? That’s not what I meant!” This is exactly what meditation is. If we can put even half of that mental energy into meditating on God’s Word, I promise you, you’ll begin to see transformation in your life.

This is what the woman with the issue of blood understood and did. She didn’t have the entire Bible to meditate on, but she meditated on the testimonies she had heard about Jesus—about the things He had done. As she reflected on these stories, she began to imagine herself touching the hem of His garment and being healed. Over and over, she meditated on this, envisioning her healing, and she got healed. Mark 5:28 says, “For she said, ‘If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.'”   She meditated her way to healing!

2. Know yourself in God (Dr Paul Enenche)

Daniel 11:32 says: the people that do know their God, they shall be strong and do exploits!

The elephant will give birth to elephant

The sheep will give birth to sheep

The ram will give birth to ram

The lion will give birth to lion

What would GOD GIVE BIRTH TO??

YE ARE GODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And all of you are children of the MOST HIGH. Psalm 82:6
